Hi there-
I don't know Kelly and his family personally but my husband works with his wife at the clinic here on Patch.  He knows your son as well.  When we heard what was going on, we simply could not believe it.  My husband was in shock.  We whole heartedly believe that your son is innocent.  I don't even know him but I feel it in my heart.  I am so very sad for everyone in Kelly's family.  I think about his wife and children all the time and I don't know how she can deal with everything.  She is a very strong woman!  We will be writing a clemency letter and donating what we can.  I know every little bit helps.  Please know that you are all in my prayers.  Peace & justice be with you!!
Sincerely-

*****

I am a civilian family who, funny to say, is attached to the **** family.  I am cautious because I do not know  proper military protocol.  When I heard the news I just couldn't believe it.  Kelly, not a close friend, but a loyal friend to my neighbor, came to help my family and the neighborhood children that surround us. This is an outrage.  Please see is you can contact **** Jag attached to 10th group.  This is injustice at the highest level!  No evidence!   He helped my family and I am loyal to that forever.  Prayers to his wife and kids.  God bless you all and do not give up this fight!

Mr *****,

I dont know if you remember or not, but we met once at Ft Bragg, when Kelly was in the 82d Airborne.  I was one of his soldiers in the 1/319.  Currently I am assigned with ******* after a tour in 5th SFG.

Kelly was an inspiration to me as an NCO, and soldier.  I Became a better medic due to his leadership.  I volunteered for SF because of him.  I made it through the course because of the lessons he taught me.  I have modeled my leadership style off of his.  He was always one to push me to my limits, then coach me on how to surpass them. In my opinion he was the best NCO I have ever served under, and if given the chance I would do it again in a heartbeat.

It is tragic that the US military would turn its back on one of their own sons.  When I think about what happened to Kelly, I become frustrated to no end.  I remember that one time when I was under his command, I got into big trouble.  I wont go into the details of the incident, but it was while he was in SFAS. I dreaded his return because in my mind my career was over, and I had disappointed him.  When he did return, his attitude was totally different than I expected.  With my chain of command about to hang me, Kelly was the only one on my side.  Kelly was not the kind of person to do what was done to him in this scam of a trial.  Like I said before, he helped me turn around into the soldier I am today.  Especially now I owe him my support.

I look forward to writing a letter asking for clemency, and if there is anything I can do to help, Do not hesitate to call or write. Also, please give my kind regards to ******, *****, and the new baby.

Mr ****
I sent my husband a link to the website. He and his team have read it, and they are sick over it. He said "its like a bad dream." He had an idea.....forget the chain of command. Go higher. Contact your district's state representative and/or the congressman/Senator that handles military affairs. MOST have an open door policy, or some kind of liaison who WILL return your call. I did these for a back pay issue when John Kerry was my Senator and I had my pay in 6 days. I know your issue is much more serious, but from experience you WILL get some kind of result. Hound them, Write them, Call them, Beg them, do whatever you have to do. They have divisions that handle military issues.  Someone HAS to listen to you. I would stop dealing with the military all together, and actually go through congress or the senate.
Please let us know what becomes of it, and if we can be of any help to you and your family.
Very Sincerely,

*****

Hi ****
I am a close friend of **** and Kelly's. I was a nurse in the ER at **** with (Kelly's wife) and her and I became like sisters.. I love her kids like my own, as I know she does mine. I know of all the hardships Kelly and (his wife) have been through, and they have found a way to keep their family together because of their undying love for each other and their children, and then this happens!  Trust me when I say this is not the first time this has happened to a soldier. I am not sure what possess a  crazy person to do the thing they do, but all I can say is Karma is a bitch, and it WILL prevail!!!!!

Kelly is a great person, I have no doubt about that. I plan on sending him a letter and some money for his account very soon. My husband is also a green beret in ***** grp. He and his team are OUTRAGED about what has happened, as I have forwarded them all of the info I have received from Heidi. The ones that know Kelly personally are going to write clemency support letters as well.
Please know you have my support as  fellow combat veteran, mother, and most of all a friend.
Thinking of you in this hard time.
